Default 2010 ec300 won't idle

I have a new to me 2010 ec300 with RB head and carb mods. It has the RB needle, 40 pilot jet, clip on 3rd position. It will not idle, idle screw all the way in. Should I put in a larger pilot jet or what. Will a JD jet kit help? Thanks in advance,
Jim

New to you = many unknown variables.

As I start I'd suggest pulling the carb out. Double check the float heights, blow out the passage ways, check the pilot for obstructions (replace with new if any doubt). Set the float, set the AS to 1.5 turns out from seated, set the idle screw so that the slide only has around 1mm visible through the carb body.

The aim is to get the bike to start and idle at these positions (give or take a bit).

While you're at it it wouldn't hurt to pull the reed block and inspect for any chipped/damaged reeds.

Who cares if it won't idle? Does it pull awesome off a closed throttle?
Can you trials it around in the forest? That's what's important.

F(5) the bike rips with the RB mods but will not idle. Does it need a bigger pilot jet?
I may call RB or get a jd jet kit. Riding without idle is not really an option.

My 300 has the RB mods and is reluctant to idle. Runs very well otherwise. I am running a 45 pilot, anything less and the bike can be hard to start.

I believe Ron suggests 1 turn out on the air screw as a good starting point. He also recommends making small adjustments (1/16 of a turn at a time!) to the air screw because the mods make it so much more effective than stock.

RB hooked me up with the proper jetting, mine was incorrect. Runs great now.
Thanks for the advice.
