Default Oil around Clutch Slave

I've been noticing a film of oil around my clutch slave on my '05 EC250 after my rides. All mount bolts are tight and the resevoir level has been OK.

Any ideas what might be wrong before I dig into it?

Thanks

Rick

That doesn't neccessarily mean there is a leak of hydraulic fluid. The piston is sealed in the slave, and an o-ring seals the slave to the case. If the slave is tight, my bet is the o-ring is pinched. Simple fix.

Also, DO NOT pump the clutch lever with the slave off the cases. The piston will fully extend and can then break the slave housing.

Thanks, I'll check the o-ring

What o-ring?
I have the same problem but when I took apart I didn't see an o-ring or a recess for one.

Well then, thats your problem!

Seriously, there should be an o-ring on the slave where the shoulder fits into the case. If its damaged or missing you could leak transmission oil.

I shall look more closely! Then I can remove the bodge job of gasket goo I used to stop it leaking.
