Threw a new front disc on mine, the old style round one. Same dimensions but no speedo magnet hole so I made a bracket for it. New chain and sprockets with a 49T on the rear. Bit shorter than 48 and taller than a 50. Who would have thought?? 😂 Perfect for my riding style. Nice RHK steel sprocket too so hopefully I will not take chunks out of the teeth like the stocker.

13/49 was always my favorite race gearing from 1998 on. (The '97 came with 13/47.)
The spacing between gears with the 13/49 is comfortable on any terrain, with first just above "crawl" and 6th being "damn fast".

Yeah it fits well with this motor, I had 13/52 on my old 04. That was mental!

I too think that 13/49 is very good. Tried 13/50 too but it made first gear too short. Overall it was nice in the woods and gnarly stuff but 13/49 is more versatile imo.

Took mine for my first ride on it.

Then got home and washed it.

Need to fix the speedo sensor, wasn't picking up any motion.

Loaded bike on trailer for some test and tune tomorrow

More testing than tuning though as I can't be bothered working on bikes in the forest unless it's necessary Fuckers running that fat that I'll probably have to change some plugs though.

I did change the needle to an NECW, if that isn't enough to cure the fatness I'll drop the main to 172.5..........not in the forest though
