What trans gears fit?? 06 EC300...

Does anyone know if the 2000 EC250 gear set is the same as the 2006 EC300? The parts fiche on gofasters only goes back to 2001.

You're trying to put transmission components from a 2000 EC 200 into your 2006 EC 300? That might help clarify the question.

I'm looking for a used gear set and there is one on eBay from a 2000 ec250. I need to replace the 3/4 cog on the gear set for the 2006 ec300 I just bought. The 2001 EC's are the same part number as the 2006. The parts fiche didn't go back farther than that to check though.

I just didn't want to spend $150 on a new 3/4 set if I can pick up a whole gear set for cheaper.

I would personally take the gamble - that is absolutely not a guarantee that it will work. However, from my very limited experience, it seems changes between 98 all the way up to at least 2009 allow crossover.

I'm sure I saw a thread with a newer bike that had some gearbox issues and even sourcing new parts they ran into issues with fitment. Just can't remember who it was.

Well, I bought the gear set on eBay from a 2000 ec300 and it dropped right in. I haven't assembled the motor yet since I'm still waiting for gaskets, but I rotated the shift drum through all the gears and it seams to work. Thanks for everyone's help!
