I had seen a tool bag somewhere once that fitted on the front forks and had a number plate on the front for day riding.
Maybe Kelly could knock someting up to strap on the forks? "I wouldn't call it a Strap On Fanny Pack though you might attract the wrong crowd" Last edited by 2taddict; 03-02-2015 at 03:01 AM. |

Depends if you are an amercan or a colonial. One means bottom, one means woman's front bottom.

I can't stand them...have a very small one I will use for trials events but for enduro / trail riding I just love how my Zac Speed chest protector / back pack combo works. I can carry more tools than I would in a fanny pack plus have a quality 100oz water bladder and a decent chest protector all in one that with the way it straps on you balance the weight on you so no pulling on the back and shoulders like a back pack would. They make 2 sizes, I run the smaller size and have no problem carrying the basic tools I need. If you want room to stuff a rain cover or spare tube then go with the larger one. I also have the flight vest mentioned above and it works but stupid hot once it warms up.

Very nice stuff Boom Boom www.zacspeed.com I like the Recon . It is my wifes birthday today maybe I should buy her the Recon pack ? $309.95 seems a little steep even for a nice birthday gift ! That does include the new shoulder pads , I am sure she would want those to

+1 Very HD

I have no headlight so I run a bag on the number plate. Don't notice the weight on the front. Then fanny pack is lighter.

90% of my riding is enduro racing, in order to get anything out of a back pack I would be removing my gloves, helmet, neck brace, and chest protector. At many checkpoints, tired as hell, no way I would want to deal with that. You are always having to inch forward as the earlier rows leave, etc. I keep my hydro-gels, pain pills, snuff, KTM multi tool, Co2 a few Zip ties, a tiny screwdriver for clicker adjustments (put a piece of rubber hose over the tip for safety), maybe a set of glove liners or an extra tinted goggle lens for when the sun comes out.
For this I use a $7-$15 fanny pack that you can find at any Walmart, Academy, etc. They work perfectly and I have a small size and a little bigger size depending on the event. Been using the same one for several seasons, I think I paid $6.99 for it. I keep the bag in front of me, that way it kinds of rests on the tank and doesn't get in the way of anything. I can grab anything i need out of it very quickly. Going cheap is just an idea...the Kelly Enduro bum pack pictured earlier is $160....lol I'm out! Long distance exploration with more tools would be a different story but this setup works for racing and woods practice. |

I have been happy with my KLIM for about a year now. I have also had Malcom Smith, liked that to and lasted about 10 years.

Not Moto specific but I have been wondering about these. Should be pretty rugged if marketed for the military crowd.
