Default RH crank seal which way round?

EC300.Started rebuild to fit new mains. RH bearing gone and seal non existent apart from outer ring. Bit confused as just reading through manual and it states seal lip to outer side. That doesn't sound right does it? Cant tell from remains of old seal.
Surely lip towards inside as that's where the pressure is. Facing outward pressure in crankcase would lift lip off shaft wouldn't it. Also where does the o-ring sit? Is it between main bearing inner race and crankshaft sleeve that seal runs on?
cheers

seal lip faces out. Remember the crank case has vacuum, not pressure. At that point it's also positioned to keep the transmission oil from being pulled (leaking) into the crank case.

thanks jeff. yep makes sense. I was thinking that when piston travels down forcing mixture up through transfer ports that there would be some pressure but as you say more suck than blow at seals. Assume same on left side too although my mate who took seal out thought lip inwards on that one?
Where should o-ring sit? On crank between main bearing centre and seal sleeve?
thanks again, bits arrive Wed so soon be busy!
cheers
Simon

Having the seal lip to the outside is kinda misleading. Put the seal in like you would any other seal. The hollow part of it faces the inside of the crank. It has a little lip to it that does face out but from a couple feet away it looks normal. That little lip is easy to fold back on installation so give it a look see and make sure it is nice and smooth against the bushing. Sounds like you have a handle on how the o-ring goes on.
