Default WTF is wrong with my shock?

http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/...psb30c3a41.mp4

Re-greased the swingarm and linkage bearings 40k's (1 ride) ago. When I put it back together everything was super smooth, no binding at all. Torqued everything up as per the torque table on this site (which is the same values as the '11 GG user manual). I'm 90% sure everything was normal on the ride I just went on, although I did notice the rear felt harsher and kicked more over square edges and decent sized logs.

Bought it home, washed it, put it on the stand to play with forks. Took it off the stand, it's making horrible noises as per above video.

Sag figures are normal, although if I let the bike sag under its own weight without pumping it up and down it only sags 5-10mm. So something isn't right.

Any opinions?

Nice boots! and your dog bones are upside down!

Start at the beginning. It looked like it was doing some funky binding up at the top of the stroke. I couldn't tell where the squeak was coming from from the video but I'd start by disconnecting the front pivot/dog bone. The other should easily rotate all the way back smoothly. Then disconnect the lower shock mount and check the range of motion of the rest of the linkage. Pull the shock and remove the spring. Run it through its stroke and make sure its compressing and rebounding correctly (the full length of the stroke). Also listen for any sounds.

If I remember correctly the Sachs shock has a check valve that can get quite noisey. Maybe bit of research there will turn up more answers.

Nathan if you end up getting bushings through Synergy can you grab me a spare 2 x bushings to save on postage (the ones on the dog bones). Wouldn't mind having some spares.

PS. Had a chance to pull it apart yet?

And the culprit was.........

When I re-greased them last time I put the swingarm bushings in the wrong way. They were in turn binding against the frame

Quick fix in the end, nothing wrong with the bearings either.

At least I now have a new set of bearings here and some bushings on the way for when they do actually go

Don't you hate when out do that? Doing the linkage and swingarm bushings /bearings today. Will definitely watch as I put it back together.

As a side note, pivot works linkage kit uses o-rings instead of the seals, much nicer.
