Default DEP Pipe - fitting and re-jetting...

Picked up a DEP expansion chamber for my 08 ec300. I tried fitting it today and it fits fine and the top mount lines up, however I can't get the lower frame mount to line up. It's about half an inch away and I can't see any way of getting it to line up.

Before I spend time making a bracket so it will be secure I thought I'd ask; am I missing something stupid?

I've got a couple of pics. so I'll try and get them up tomorrow.

EDIT: All sorted thanks to a couple of ideas from this thread, anyone got any jetting tips for it? It already had a FMF PowerCore 2 long silencer on it.

The lower front mount on my 2001 xc300's pipe has a rubber spacer between the pipe and the frame. Do you have that? Would a rubber spacer fix the problem?

just an idea...

i've not owned a pipe that actually lined up with the lower mount (out of 5 pipes - none lined up...) i put a long bolt with alternating rubber and metal washers as spacers (maybe 5 or 6 of each) then a nylock. holds it solid, and gives it a little give for the hits.. the rubber spacer that is stock may or may not work....

Thanks to you both, there's no rubber spacer on it at the minute but would probably solve the problem. If not, I'll make up an ally bracket and mount it on rubber washers to provide some flex.

Just fitted a fuel filter yesterday so got the piece of pipe that I cut out that should do the job nicely.

All sorted, just got a small strip of ally and mounted it to the frame mount then put a bit of rubber hose between it and the pipe mount. A longer screw through it and a nylock on the back should hopefully hold it fine.

Just got to wait for the rain to stop so I can get it outside to start up and check there's no leaks etc.

Do you guys find you have to fiddle with the jetting much for a pipe change?

Good work. Beat me to it.
This mount came on the new bike with the FMF Gnarly - 2001 xc300
The spacer thickness is about 3/4 inch.
The bolt is a super tight press fit through the rubber.

Pipe in the photo is an abused Messico.

Thanks for the pic, can't wait to start it up and get out on it!
