Jetting advice
I read every page of the jetting thread and I'm still scratching my head. Here is what I have in the bike now.
2007 EC 250 N1eg Needle 3rd clip from top 180 main 42 pilot #8 slide Racing an enduro 800-1000 ft temps so they claim 52* but race will start in the 40* and may stay that cold all day .This is the set up I run all summer plug is perfect and bike runs perfect.Would I be safe going with a 185 main and a 48 pilot there are some 6th gear fields and would rather not melt it down but don't want to be to rich just in case it does warm up.thanks Mike Last edited by Silver; 10-28-2009 at 09:22 AM. |

Mike,
The 185 main looks good, but the 48 pilot may be too rich. A 45 pilot may be a better match to your current summer jetting. If you went with the 48 pilot, then you may need to back out the air screw to help lean the 0-1/8 throttle a bit. You should be receiving a PM from me.

I think your jetting is good for hot dry summers, I have used your setup in Greece with no problems, but for cold weather racing I would go to a N1EF needle on the 2nd or 3rd clip with a #7 slide. The 42 pilot is just right, I have tried the 45 with a #8 slide and it has similar results with the 42 and #8 slide.
I use 178 to 180 main with the F needle with a 2% full synthetic oil mix, and have no issues after long transfer sections @ WOT. Try it, it gives a nice strong mid-range.

I'm stuck with this needle as i have no time to get another one.So have to come up with a setup around the N1EG needle. My thougts are to go with 185 main and 42 pilot and leave needle as it is set. I thought I had a 45 but do not so left 42 in and turned in air screw it is now out 1.5 turns.

Thanks for the help my jetting was spot on .The 185 main did it's job top speed of 72 yesterday across a corn field nothing like grabbing 6th and passing some orange bikes .My GasGas performed great love the power delivery in the mud. I ended up getting 1st in Vet B at the Turkey Creek enduro. It was muddy but the sun shined all day great way to end the season.
