What did you do to your Gas Gas today?

Rebuilt it..

After the chain snapped all the parts I needed arrived, had the cases welded up last week, fitted the clutch slave and the rear caliper bled the brake and the clutch fitted new rear wheel bearings and the new chain, trimmed the headlight like Leo has above, looks much nicer! Took her for a quick spin around the block to check it all works fine.

Replaced the rear brk pads, bled/flushed system. Now loaded up to go riding! Its going to be a good day, about 50 deg, and sunny.

On the Gasgas side of things, I replaced worn out front brakepads and also changed the oil in the outer legs of the Kyb forks, trying a smaller oil volume this time to soften it somewhat.

You might try some lighter viscosity oil, instead of less oil. Reggie favors the 3wt shock oil. I'm using 5wt cartridge fork suspension fluid (85/150) in my 45mm Shivers.

Does the same go for the outer oil in a closed cartridge fork? Mine are KYB sss from a Yamaha. I understand that the viscosity is important inside the cartridge (where I use Ohlins 5 oil), but wouldn't think it matters a lot in the outer oil where I presume the level is more important (as the air chamber affects the spring action). However, I use the same Ohlins oil there.

Looks like an early Spring this year for us. New chain (114 link) and JT sprockets 13-51. Hoping to get rid of the 1-2 shift in tight trails. New Michelin MH3 rear and Washougal sticky front. Exhaust O rings. Brake pads front and rear. Now on to my sons ttr-110 with a GYTR jet kit.

Service and revalve time for the shock at 55hrs. Decided to regrease the linkages and swingarm bearings while I was at it. Didn't need to as it turned out, still plenty of grease in them. But know I now they can go for 50 hrs between services so happy days.
