Default I stuffed my fork

Well everyone, I have been unlucky enough to stuff my left fork tube outer with a large rock and it's damn expensive to replace.. I am weighing up the options of ditching the marzocchi altogether and go for twin chamber Showas from a CRF.. Has anyone done this? Am I mad?
Does anyone have some suggestions.. I priced the outer fork tube at AU$800 approx US$620... That bites...

Yes someone not too long ago posted up about putting Showas on an older GG.

There are also some "part-out" threads going on the For Sale board. I'd think you could get a whole front end cheaper than that fork tube.

My friend here in town (Andy Winters, who runs woodsracer dot com) has been doing that for a few years to his KTMs. He swears its the bomb for a rock bike. Give him a shout if you have any questions, tell him I sent you.

I've weighed up the costs.. By the time I get forks down to Australia , resprung and valved to suit and fit it up with triple clamps. I not going down this path... I got hold of an earlier fork tube outer and getting it anodised black to match the other leg.. A few Hundred $$ savings..
