My experience is that the growling noises are normal for all 2 stroke clutches, when they're being heavily abused. I think most here have had their gassers do it on occasion.

Running an auto clutch? How did you have it set to take up? If it was always slipping it will cook your oil up nice and quick.

What oil have you been running?

I start with the Shell Rotella 15W-40 oil t3 as most of you do .. make noise then try the bell ray gear saver that the huskavarna dealer recommend ( no gas dealer here ) that was the result after 1 hard thigh technique ride ,,, all plate burn ,,,
I just finish removing the glaze with 220 grid sand paper on a surface plate. now as for the friction 2 are 2.70 and the rest are aprox 2.79 but the friction are black will they still work ?? do they "glase" like the steel plate do ?
and I have a reckluse basket on order in the mean time I have no clue what to do .. where do I put the thinner plate as I ride 2 gear most time do it make any difference ? and if I removed the reckluse clutch will it still make noise ?
thanks

What is the spec range for the whole stack together (steels and fibers)? I have to do my clutch when the gasket gets here.

If your friction plates went out that fast you probably need to set the free play gain. It sounds like your pressure plate is engaged when it's not supposed to, wearing down your friction plates.

It's unfortunate that we need to get the outer basket on these bikes. Some bikes run rekluse fine without it but not the gassers. All said and done my rekluse cost around $1400 Canadian. Not cheap, but that's the high cost of high performance. The guy above me is probably right about setting free play gain. It can be hard to do if your jetting isn't spot on. It took me a lot of time and heartache to get it right if your not a great mechanic such as myself

I finally got it running well though and it's pretty satisfying.

I got a jd jet kit and I'm happy with it.

Also with your rekluse you need the heavy 450 wedges. If you don't have the heavy wedges it will not engage at the right rpms

Good luck!
