Ignition drain hole.
Has anyone experimented with plugging the drain hole on the bottom of the cases? I always seem to have lots of yucky water get under my ignition cover. I'm wondering if I shouldn't just put a screw in the hole.

Absolutely, I always do this. The ignition would be full of crap if I didn't. Bond a gasket to the cases with RTV, coat cover side with grease and remove every ride/wash. The '05+ have a drain molded into the ignition cover, I plugged that with epoxy as well.

Thanks. It seems like a grand idea until you start riding in the slop. I thought my skid plate would prevent it, but it doesn't. I took it off again for the winter months, the dang thing is just a headache to wash the bike when it gets mud caked into it.

Pack it with foam. The Hyde on mine ends up being a shovel if I don't.
