You cant modify the 06 subframe to fit 07 parts, you need the 07+ subframe.
Sorry

iv looked at the pictures on the gas gas sight and thought with some cutting and welding but useing the old subframe i could make it fit the fender, but will have to get a 07 air box and air box plastics.

Only one way to know for sure. Get a newer fender and go at it.

I would like to know if you can make it work.

Modifying the 06 sub frame to fit an 07 fender may not be feasible but there are people who could do it. The 07 fender has deep square pockets on the underside that slide onto long protrusions at the back of the sub frame. I have a good 07 rear fender(scuffed but no tears or sizable scratches) and the rear half of the airbox that you'll need. $29 plus shipping for both if interested. - KEN 931-498-5113

Ken,

If he is not interested I am, I would like to investigate this possibility. We have some talented fabricators here at work that may be able to make it work.

Let me know if he does not take you up on the offer.

Ok, so far i now have a 07 front plastics and a 06 rear end, i can only get a red rear fender but have black front. Will it look like a bag of s*** if i stick with what i got and put a sticker kit on?

What to do? I really like the 07 fronts but have been told if i spray the fender at the rear it wont last and the paint will just come off?

Correct the paint will come off.

maybe you could split the bike, front half plastics black and back half plastics in red. Then decals/stickers to match the two up.
