Engine difference?
Does any one know what differences there are between the 1998 EC250
And the later models 1999 onwards. Also do any parts crossover?? thanks Darren |

I think everything but pipes from 07 and on will not work. I think the piston up to 2003 or 2004 will also work.

The '98 cases are a little bit different, the swingarm hole is larger in the '98, and the motor mount holes in the front and bottom are smaller, and i think that the crankcase area is smaller so you cant put a newer cylinder on it(i think) been so long since i had it apart, but i think that is what it was, i know that the cylinder and head are different for sure, side covers are the same, and clutch stuff is too. Trans will swap out with newer stuff.

Just curious but I noticed the dreaded KTM stamped on the rad scoops does any one know what parts could or would cross over from other bikes??
