A friend uses exclusively Spectro in all of his bikes, and has since we were in high school. He has 25 motorcycles, most of them two stroke, most vintage, and none have ever failed due to a lubrication issue.

He has a 2001 KTM 250 E/XC that he bought new in the fall of 2000. He runs Spectro 50:1. The top end has never been off of the bike, it still runs great, and he's never even cleaned the power valve. I'd say you're safe Doug!!

If you are looking to save money though, Motul 710 is $35 a gallon.

Where do you get Motul 710 for $35 a gallon?

Citgo has been making the oil for Yamaha for the past several years. The product data sheet says it is suited for premix as well as injector as it is pre-diluted. 2R and 2S would be covered under that listing.

As far as Chavez goes, I guess that may be one of the reasons that all the Citgo's around here have switched to "Marathon" stations.

When comparing the specs. the Citgo Superguard had a different viscosity at the same temps.

Citgo makes both Yamalube and Sea and Snow but they appear to be different blends.

Used Spectro from the 70's until '02... still have a '82 Husky 420 and run it 40:1 for many miles and still on the same top and bottom end. I run 50:1 Silkoline pro2sx full synth. in the rest of my bikes(including my vintage collection). I tend to think the Spectro is an older oil which is why I changed.
