Not to hijack the thread...........

The sealing surface on the tank needs to be absolutely flat. There may be casting flashing that may keep the cap from sealing.

You can take some 2000 grit sand paper.
Lay it on a flat surface.
Invert the tank (so you won't contaminate the tank) and sand the fuel cap sealing surface smooth.

Default Cap and stuff

Well as far as tank the bubbles under the surface that final colapsed are probly 3-5mm deep. If I file that much down the cap will probly bottom on the tank before getting tite. However the cap sealed for about 10 hours until the seal shrunk. Might do some kind of plastic welding do to depth. Iam looking into options anyway. Bigger issue is the cap degraded and is now cracked. Anyway not a bid deal it will get worked out.

Yes, sounds like molding problem caused a defective tank. That never happened before.

Default tank

Yes, the lot of it probably could have or could be warrantied. The biggest problem was I didn't have any trouble with it till like 35 days in...lol Didn't know if it was worth getting involved with a warranty like that early in a relationship with a company if I could remedy it on my own? It was really all of the sudden fine for about 10-12 hours which took me about 30 days then...pow tank rim colapsed in one spot seal shrunk and cap cracked all within days. Since trying to start a shop and sell these bikes I was very watchfull of the bike since I built it from the crate. Also Iam doing this on an extremely limited budget and had no room to have the bike down with no tank at the moment.

Thanks for all of the help as this form seems very friendly in comparison to others. Iam in no way unhappy with my bike just as a note if people are wondering. I would do it all over because I really think it is the best bike for the type of riding I do and for what I was looking for in a bike.

thanks again,

Rick

You have a great attitude, and trying to promote the brand and make a go of it in these times, I would think getting you a new tank should be no big deal. Especially if its going to be a sort of demo bike that everyone will look over at the races. I would think the factory might want to know about the problem as well.

Any more questions just ask. They are great bikes, you made a good choice.
