Default Awesome video of Destry Bustin' out KX500

The mighty KX500 would still be the King of the Desert if Kawasaki wasn't chickenshit of the liberals....

Check out this cool video of Destry riding his old H&H Championship bike I found on Enduro360.

That is one hell of a bike, what type of power does it put out?

I would say it puts out around "enough"

I don't know, have to be around 55hp would be my guess.

I wonder what his "Factory" version weighed? I'm guessing 235 w/o fuel.

Quick google search produced this from Dirt Bike Mag:

"1999 KAWASAKI KX500
Like the Honda CR500, the KX500 is a living reminder of a bygone era. It revs higher than the CR500 and is more stable, which makes it a popular desert bike. You rarely see one on a motocross track, though. Tested in the April 1999 issue.
TEST BIKE WEIGHT: 233 lb.
PEAK HORSEPOWER: 55.9 @ 6500 rpm"

So I was pretty close on my guess! I would bet Destry's Factory bike had more HP, maybe 60+, and probably weighed 5-10 lbs less.

Nice video! I raced CR500s for a few years, they are awesome machines. A lot of people are scared of the power but they are really a lot of fun to ride.
