Default Crank seals

I am in the process of rebuilding a 03 300
Can the crank seals be installed with out splitting the case?

They can be but you need to be careful not to damage the crank or case.

Very easily. I've got my cases apart now, but have changed the seals in situe before.

On the clutch side. Pull the centre spacer out. Then you can easily pry the seal out with a seal puller... Or screwdriver. Remember that spacer has an o-ring behind it (I think... Might only be the drive shaft one..).

Stator side, just carefully stab into the seal and pry it out also.

Definitely a cheeky little o ring behind that spacer.

Just remember though, there's no real reason for thee seals to go, they are Viton, and lubricated from both sides. Chances are if they're leaking, the bearings are shot.

Our 1998 EC250 had rubber crank seals that went bad after 10 years which was probably due to the alcohol in the fuel. I'm not sure when they switched to Viton.
