Has anyone had a gnarly pipe for the ec250 2001 does it fit well or for any adjustments need to be made?

They fit.
In my experience, FMF pipes from that era were sketchy on fitment.

I put a gnarly on my 2006/2011 on Saturday, fits better than the original. Only difference between models is the front exhaust mount anyway. Later end cans fit different though but will fit on either spanny.

I did the upgrade kit on my 2006 years ago. You will replace the rear subframe, and the silencer will move a bit sideways. I had the Gnarly expansion chamber and the OEM 2006 silencer. It didn't fit directly, but it was no problem making it fit via some minor adjustments.

I bought a new FMF Gnarly off Ebay for my '01 XC200. It was listed as fitting a '01 thru '09 200, 250 & 300. It fit perfectly. My bike already had the FMF silencer.

I have a 2002 EC 300 with the Gnarly (purchased in 2015) and the turbine core 2 (which came with the bike).

Last year, i did the "transformation kit" with the 2011-style plastic. I had to make small brackets to make the turbine core fit on the new subframe. The brackets were maybe 40 mm long, and I had drilled two, 1/4" holes to accommodate the old silencer. the new steel subframe is a bit wider than the old aluminum subframe, and a big taller, so the brackets took care of that.

Happy to have the transformation kit, and happy that the parts supply is / should remain strong.

You can order whatever front pipe you want, only difference is the front bracket is either offset or not.

I have the pre-2009 silencer on my 2011 update, i had to space out the front most mount with washers, otherwise not a problem.
