Default rear shock '01 for '06?

hello everyone,

as the title says, will an ohlins from a '01ec250 fit in my '06 ec 300?
are the mx rear shocks different from the ec?

No. The 01 is a tad longer, I believe. If not mistaken...the 01 shock can be modded internally to fit the 03 - later chassis.

I have an 07 shock on an 05 frame, the whole bike rides a little low because of it but it still hauls mail through the trees and it also lets me dominate switchbacks

There s one to sell over here for about 150 euro. Not much wanted in the homeland of ktm ;-)
I dont need it by now but if it had fitted I would have thought of buying it. Got a spare front fork already :-)
