Default EC 250 1997 forks swop to ec 250 1998

Hi all

I have been offered the whole front end off a EC 250 1997 it's got 50mm forks
This is the only info I have been give, Dose this sound right, did the 1997 come with 50mm forks? I have a EC 250 1998 with 45mm forks , is it possible to swop the whole front end off the 1997 would this be a direct fit ?

Any help would be great

They'll go right on your bike. Some pre 00' or so bikes came with 50mm conventional forks. Good luck!

Hi

I'm looking a set of WP 43 (upside down)2002 ec250 forks and yokes, will these also fit my ec250 1998, sorry to keep asking but I don't won't to make the mistake if buying something that will not fit my bike.

Cheers for any help !

Yes, the GasGas 02 WP 4357 forks with triple clamps, axle and Nissian front brake will be a direct bolt on. You will also need to replace wheel bearings, spacer and inter hub spacer as well. Depending on top clamp bars as well due to being 1 1/8 ( fat bars) or if they have the 7/8 clamps.

I have this set up on my 99 EC 200 that once had 45mm Zokes .

There is a few pictures on my profile page in the picture section.

Good luck.

I am not sure on the Brembo caliper, I bought a compete front end off of a 2002 EC 300. So I swapped everything over. My guess would be use a Nissan caliper and if you don't have the Nissan master cylinder you could use the Brembo but you would need a "one off" brake line.
All the spacers, bearings, seals and inter hub spacer are OEM parts, makes for a clean swap!
Even my headlights straps worked perfect on the 4357 WP forks.
You will also need the USD fork guards with the brake line clamp. As for the upper brake line guide I used one from a 2007 KX 100 the bolted directly onto my lower tripple clamp.
Let me know if you want some detailed pictures!

Thanks for the kind words on the old 200!

Good luck....enjoy!
