Needle advice EC250

Hi all, just looking for some advice regards my carburator on EC250 1998

Removing the slide i was checking the needle and it apears to have a shiny flat spot on the tip. I assume this means that it is worn. Am i correct?

The bike runs fine at all speeds (sometimes dies out at idle)

The needle is a N1EC

Carb PWK38 S54A3 LL

Basically need to know if i have to get a new needle. If so do i change the main jet also?
