Default Ec 300 jetting uk settings

I?ve had a few gas gas 300?s and all run spot on from new so never looked at the carb settings.
I?ve just got myself a toy to green lane on. Ec300 2007-2008 mint but runs shite.
Tick over is good.
Bottom end pulls well, takes a couple gears to clear when riding at low speed.
Somebody has been trying to get thing right the settings are.
Main 168
Pilot 38
Slide 7
Needle N1EF top clip. (Lean)
AIr screw fully in.

Spoke with Kev at gas gas uk
He said standerd should be
M 178
P 40
S 7
P N1EF middle clip
AS 1-1/2 out..

That?s just gonna make it run richer right. Any input would be great on this. I?m a tech rider like it crisp.
It’s got an FMF front pipe. If that makes any difference..

Look i think Neil is being a bit circumspect when he says the N1FE is rubbish.

I'm not genuinely sure what circumspect means.

I'm assuming it means complete absolute shite.

Cut it in half so you are not tempted to use it. A piece of fencing wire sanded down in the drill could be better.

I've been riding my 07 EC300 in the sun today wheeling up hills. Awesomeness.


Look I think maybe I have been subtle in my answer and possibly missed my point. The base of the shitty N1FE bah i can't even speak its name without falling into a rage.

Well i wasn't that enraged as to start quoting devil lyrics, until i actually made the switch form this absolute disastrous pile of smelly poisonous crap that is the N1EF needle, forgive me from typing it's name. The hours i spent trying to figure it out and the doubt that maybe the bike has a problem, a 2001' 300.

Anyway, stepping away from the darkness, read some threads here and bought a NEDJ.

AS 100 turns out
and it was shitty down low, also crap in the middle but ok high. (talking about throttle openings)

now its the same only
NEDJ@3 and AS 2-3 out and its very close to 100%. i mean the sputter is absolutely minimum at small openings and tunable with AS, anything after barely cracked open and it accelerates smoothly, even at extremely low rpm near the die out point below idle.

Pretty tempted to melt the old needle into nothing.
