Unhappy gasgas ec300 05 model wont hit full powerband??!?!?!?

i bought an ec300 off my brother for dirt cheap. the first time i got it, it had new piston and rings put in it but my brother said it starts but as soon as you take of it will just bog down and die.. fair enough. first time i tried starting it took me half an hour to start and then did what he said it would. i pulled the carby out and pulled it apart to find the main jet was snapped off. i replaced the jet thinking this is the problem.. the bike then started first 2 kicks, took it for a ride and fixed the bogging problem. i then find out powerband wouldn't kick in.. peaking!!! i found that there was oil pissing out the manifold i then replace the gasket fixxed that problem but whilst i had the exhaust off i realised the powervalve was sticky. i lubed it up got it springing nicely put the exhaust on starded her up took her for a ride and powerband was starting to kick in but when i give it full throttle it feels like it wants to die! what am i doing wrong here? i need help badly please.

did you check the rest of the powervalve system, could still be a problem there, dislocated balls or a broken actuator rod?

i have checked it and it is all springing back nicely, i checked the reeds today and found it was all broken on one side, you could fit two fingers in the hole lol. would that cause the powerband to choke like that?

new reeds will fix it. while you're at it, get some new powerbands. although expensive, the black ones are best.

I've found that with the powerbands if you take them out and heat them in an oven to about 350f for about 10 mins you can restore them to their original strength.

More seriously.............. take no notice of any talk about powerbands, they are taking the pi55.
