Eliminating ignition key
The key switch on my 2014 XC300 has started to give me small problems. When I turn the key to the on position, I have to jiggle it a little to hit the sweet spot where it will actually turn on.
I'm considering eliminating the key, and installing a on/off switch in its place. Does anyone know how the key is wired in, and how I need to go about this? There are 4 wires in the key switch harness.

I'll go dive into it right now, I have a couple switches... hoping I can get one installed looking clean.

Ok, I got her.
I used a 3 spade illuminated switch (just as another reminder to turn it off). Red, and red/black are switched. I grounded to the mount to make the illuminated switch light up. I had some aluminum plate laying around that I made a switch mount out of. It works perfect, and oddly enough when I turn the switch off the bike shuts down. Key power must also be necessary for the engine to run on my 2014.
