Pardon my ignorance but why do you(& lots of others) run the peg pin upside down?
I think also on some bikes (like 2010) the clutch side will require removing the clutch cover to install the pin from the top

The clutch cover isn't much, if any, different than any other euro OEM clutch cover. They are all weak and flimsy like that. It's just a stroke of luck how it landed when you dropped it.
