Default 300 2T Differences between 08' and 2011 ??

I was about to get a great deal on a twice-ridden 2010 300...............but due to circumstances beyond my control (poop happens sometimes) that deal has vanished.

So I am back to looking for another 300. This deal was going to be nice because I would of got it for less then I'm selling my Beta for. Now I'm looking around and considering a 08 (although I would prefer something newer).

How many changes (and were any significant) have been made on the 300's from 08' to 2011?

All input is appreciated,

J

I own both these models. First off Just the fit and finish between the 2 is very noticeable. They just keep refining these bikes.

Front fender
headlight
Rear fender side panels.
Rad shrouds have been molded so the fit very tight to the body now. Less chance of catching one and ripping it off
Rear brake caliper, smaller lighter.
brake rotors have changed. Wave style look.
brake pedal new with adjustable foot
Ohlins shock
New 1 piece gas tank mold with larger recess for exhaust clearance. shrouds now are attached with tapped bolts instead of sheet metal screws.
New radiator cap and thermostat, the expansion tank has been removed
Carb is not a screw on top anymore.
FMF Q sparky
Frame has same geometry but has a tubular look. The shaved down the large steering head lock to a smaller lighter looking one.
Color scheme, wheels, frame, plastic, etc.

I'm probably forgetting some things but I think those are the main things.

Really cant say yet, Only rode the 11 around the yard. Probably won't ever truly be able to compare the 2 motors as my 08 has the 2K2 ignition and the new one has the 2K3. The 11 feels like it has less vibes but that may be the difference of a 3 year old bike verses new and tight. I will know more as I get some real world seat time on the 11.

Just a quick question about the vibes? If coming off a 4 st. how noticeable will the vibes be, and are they any worse then all the orange looking things you see at the enduros?

there is no way any of the gasgas will vibrate like a ktm 4t (or ktm 2t for that matter)...but then again, i think all the ktm's vibrate like crazy..

My GasGas 2T vibrates a lot more than the 4T KTM RFS engine (I have not ridden a KTM 2T).

I thought that my 07 EC250 vibrated alot when i first got it. It was new. I don't notice it at all now. I had come from quite a few years on KDX 200's, which are a sweet little engine. I would put the vibration of my GasGas at about the same level as a CR250 I previously had. It's nothing, really.

Husley,
If you will call me, I will point you to some dealers who bought new 2010 300s.

My 2 stroke KTMs, especially my 200, vibrated way more than any of my GGs. My '03 EC250 buzzed a bit more than my '00 and '07, but after I switched ignitions it was on par, so perhaps the big flywheel was slightly out of balance. Trailtech will balance flywheels BTW.
