Default what would you reccommend?

I'm going to get back into motorcycles after about 20 years out. The main place I plan on riding is ideal for a trials bike but since I've been out of riding the fuel tanks and seats have disappeared (average .5 gal. as compared to the 2 gal size of long ago). Should I settle for a newer enduro type bike, look for an older trials with more of a gas tank and seat. Attempt to modify a new trials bike. I'm worried that a vintage bike would be hard to get parts for plus I like the newer bikes superior handling.

My land is in Colorado in the San Isabel national forest not far from where the had the US world championships in 1980 I live in north east OK. I will spend most of my summers in CO for the next few years.

personally id go with what you think you will ride more. check out the area and see if the newer trials bikes will get you far enough to get gas when you need it, or if there are trails open enough to use an enduro bike comfortably. im sure there are trails for enduro bikes up there, and i think if you want the seat and gas tank, you would be much better off getting a newer enduro bike as apposed to an old trials bike. suspension and good ergonomics have come a long way since 1980

I tagged along with some enduro rides with my TXT 280. Rip'n around in 4th.and 5th. gear all day. It was like a mountain bike with an engine. (Bike is under 150 lbs.) Carried two 2 Lt. plastic pop bottles full of fuel strapped to my camelbak. It was fun but standing all day tends to get to ya after awhile. Like skid said you can get a bigger tank and seat combo for the newer Trials bikes but their are kinda over priced.
You really need to get on a new XC 300 geared right for S/T stuff.

Does anybody have a address for the seat and gas tank kits. I would like to look at them. If it's not practical I will most likely buy a 2 stroke 250 or 300 enduro.

Where in NE Ok? I have a shop in Pryor and 2 GGs a trials and an enduro if you want to try one firsthand

We're planning a trip to San Isabel for the Ute Cup trials Aug 21-22
