Battery strength and electric start 02 400FSE/450FSE

Hi Guys had a problem the other day my starter relay was clicking but work eventually start after bout 5 clicks of the button i borrow a mates WR450 starter relay and it fired straight away, i went and brought a new starter relay and once again she fired straight away
i played with it a few times switching it on and off just checking to see if it was the starter relay and not a short in the wiring than all of a sudden i switched it off and it started trying to start itself but wouldnt fire i switched off the ignition and it kept going then disconnected the negative terminal on the battery then it stopped i put the terminal back on the battery n it tried firing again so i took it off again, i than tried the old starter relay and all was fine again i tried to start it and it clicked bout 8 times than fired ran than i turned it off and it was fine started it again and all was good put the new relay in again and started first press ran switched it off and it tried to turn itself over again, browsed through a few forums and seen something bout if the battery is low it could cause this problem fully charged the battery over night fired it and it started ran switched off and all is fine tried another 5 times and no problems,

i know alot of people have had these problems before but wanting to know if this is going to reoccur or why it occurs
Im new to fuel injection and EFI

just checked my battery fully charged started bike fired straight away than switched it off and she tried to start again without the button

found loose wire on starter relay plug resoldered wire n havent had the problem since
