Default New to me 2004 Gas Gas EC 300

Picked this one up the other day after having looked a several GG's in the area. 2004 Gas Gas EX 300. It has newer plastic on it, but came with what I think is the red/black plastic from 04.

It needs a decent amount of TLC, but it should work out great for the local HS series and the yearly Colorado trip.

It has a Rekluse installed but it sure didnt look like any I had seen. (see pic) Jon at Rekluse says it is one of their first gen Z-Start auto clutches. It needs adjustment and work, but I think it will eventually come off and be replaced with a stock clutch set up.

I have been reading away on the site, gathering info, and taking notes on parts interchange. Thanks.

I like the newer 6 Days graphics. Looks like it should be a nice bike when you get it all done!

I have an '06 or '07 (vin says built in 06, but looks like an '07 and has '07 shock) that I love. I also have a Husqvarna with a Rekluse and while I like the auto clutch on there, the stock clutch on the GasGas works so well that I actually wouldn't want one on it.

Made some progress on the EC 300.
Found the jetting was changed to compensate for other problems. So all the changes I made were wasted.
Same for the timing.
Set both back to stock-ish numbers.
Found the power valve linkage was not operating. Took that all apart and remedied it.
Runs WAY better than before. Now its similar to my 00 KTM 300.
Did maintenance/cleanup/lube on the brakes and swing arm.
New rear tire/tube/wheel bearings.
Hope to do a new front tire/tube/bearings and suspension/linkage work this weekend.
Swapped out the plastic for the red stuff. Not sure I will keep it that way or not.
And I need to get my local hare scramble numbers put on it as well.
