Default Battery Not Charging

During my ride this weekend I noticed my battery wasn't charging while the bike was running. The battery takes a charge from a tender without a problem. The headlight and taillight are plenty bright when the bike is running and the fuses right next to the battery under the seat are good. I'm going to check power from the motor to the battery tonight when it's running but I wanted to see if there is possibly something else I'm missing. Or if someone has some advice on things to check.

Ok so long story short the wiring was messed up. The light had been disconnected when I got the bike and I wired it into the wrong wire. The wiring diagram shows the headlight should take power straight from the stator while mine was taking it from after the rectifier/regulator that went to charging the battery. What this showed is with the light on I only saw 6volts going to the battery. With the light off I saw 13+. So I connected the headlight to the correct wire and all should be good now I'm taking it for a ride this weekend.

So I went for a ride and everything worked fine but halfway through my headlight quit working. The plug has power but the light is dead. I don't see any visible damage to the light though when I pulled it, odd......what type of bulb goes in the 12 headlight?

It looks like a high low beam car bulb I could get at any auto parts store.

My 2010 uses an H4 bulb. Not sure about the 12.
