Default Sony action cam visor mount

So my last batch of videos really made me want to figure a new way to mount my camera. So here it is very simple and not intrusive to my sight line. The camera is a Sony as-15, it's 2 generations old now. This is the standard waterproof housing it comes with. Its just a standard 1/4 20 bolt going through a hole drilled in the visor into the housing with some washers for more support. It is rigid enough that the visor will have to break for it to come off and the on/off button barely clears on the back. Here it is:

I did the same with my GoPro HD. It worked fine, but it did partially block my view.

iv my GoPro mounted there also..doesn't affect my view at all..I kept mine as close to the helmet as possible,,I found the further out on the visor it was, that it would catch my eye,, but when close to the helmet it didn't and it added to stability to have the back resting on the helmet. .uploadfromtaptalk1400247717950.jpguploadfromtaptalk1400247750693.jpg

Mine mount is in the same place, but I still get distracted a bit. I find that I can ride fine and see, but it still bothers me.

My GP Hero3 is under the visor. I have my visor up as high as it will go and never even notice it when riding. I forget it is there usually.

The VIO POV is the best camera for mounting under the visor due to it being about 1/3 the size of a Contour HOWEVER, it is a cable mount that runs to a quick disconnect off the back of the helmet to your back pack. The base unit in the back pack is bulky, but even trying to look up at the camera through your goggles, you can't see it.

Haha ya Spooly I saw you post those pics so it got me thinking! The Vio kinda sounds cool, always have a backpack on so wouldnt be to bad. I can see this cam since its so long but it's only about a inch wide and right between my eyeballs so its not to bad. Trail testing sunday.
