Default Wheel/Wheel Bearing?

I have a 03 MC250 that I have recently got a 18" rear wheel from a 01 XC 300 that the bearings are going out. I have a spare set of bearings for the stock wheel.

Will the bearings work? I was planing on just swapping the spacers from the stock wheel.

Will I have to get another washer to go between the two bearings?

Thanks for any help.

I am certain the wheel bearings will interchange between the hubs.

I have an '08, but liked the D.I.D. U rims, so I have a set of '01 wheels on my bike. All it took was changing out the wheel bearings and spacer from the '08 wheels, into the '01 wheels. You should be fine.

Did you put the washer in the 01 wheel as I understand it those did not come with the washer.

I have wheels of all vintages. The fronts yes, but the rears no. The '03+ rear wheels have different bearings and sprocket side spacers than the '01. The washer with the shoulder is necessary to maintain the thrust across the inner races of the two stacked sprocket side bearings.

I simply disassembled the '08 bearing and spacer assembly and put it in the '01 rear wheel. It was a direct crossover. The axle is a lot larger in diameter, so you have to change every piece, but the hub is exactly the same, just the inner diameter of the bearings.
