Default 01 XC300 headlamp options

i have an 01 xc300 with the 2k3 ignition and love the bike. We ride every once in a while at night and could use a little more headlamp. what are my options ..

Ya might want to start here:
http://trailtech.net/lights.html
And if you are really serious:
http://www.touratech-usa.com/
I know some people that swear
by a single helmet light. They
do not ride fast open stuff, but,
tight single track and putting
around camp and to the outhouse.
They set up a connector like a headphone
jack with a coiled up strechie cord like on a
phone. Wire it into the bikes electrical
system with the plug up between the bars.
And mount the light on their helmet with
hi-strength velcro. If they fall the cord
detaches at the headphone jack so they
don't get choked by the wire.
I have been wanting one of these for some time:

I have an '02 XC300 converted to an EC300. Like you
I installed the 2K3 ingition. I also did the DC conversion
and added a sealed lead acid battery with a rectifier.
It now powers all the lights, signals and horn without
having the motor running. I may get one of the bar
mount halogen units one of these days.
Kind of like this one:

Let us know what you come up with.
Good luck. Jeff So. Cal.

I ride with a buddy that has a wr450, the light on that bike is awesome.
i have rode the 300 with the stocker at night and anthing above a very conservative pace is pretty spooky..

Jay.
Do you have you head light wired up for high beam use only?
The two outer terminals on the bulb connector are for the high beam.

Won't put out much more light.

Go raid your parts dept and find a HID bulb with the ballast and rig that up.
