Default NOOB, 1st ride on GasGas 300XC

Got to ride my GasGas 300XC yesterday. Bought it at Bill's Motorcycles. What a great crew and dealership, can't say enough about them! Rode , with Scratch 250, Jon and Val. Just came off a Honda CRF450X. Bike didn't take to long to get used to. Minor adjustments here and their. Some rebound adjustments and forgot about suspension. It works real well. Rode about 40 miles. Some of it tight and twisty, some fast open stuff and some really ugly stuff. Bike doesn't care, it just goes where you point it. The only limiting factor is the nut behind the wheel, not the bike. Took a while to get used to coming off a 450x, it seems to do everything better and easier. GREAT BIKE, will be back out this coming weekend for more roosting. Will be raising and moving handlebars up and forward, getting taller seat. I'm 6'2" and have both feet flat on the ground. Out side of a heavier rear spring the bike needs nothing. Am really happy with this bike. Awesome machine. Forest

Nice man! I just bought a 14' xc 200r from them a few weeks ago. Different bike, but the GG took about 15 minutes to get used to. I rode mine with stock jetting (175 MJ, 42 PJ, NOZH#3, #6 slide @ 50:1) and it is smokey at idle, but backs off a few minutes after riding. While the bike is rideable, there is some bog @ 1/4 throttle but other than that it was decent. I pointed, and it did what I needed it to. Did you ride yours stock or make any jetting changes? If so, how was throttle performance? Bike is down right sexy, ENJOY!

Default 2014 GasGas 300xc

This was Bill's demo bike and he did the getting changes. Put in 2nd gear and ride it around like a trials bike. No bog, no hesitation. Runs real clean. Better than anything I ever owned.

Congrats and welcome to the GG fold...recognize your name from over on the OMRA board

Seems Bill is really doing a great job of promoting the brand in our neck of the woods and that couldn't make me happier; hear no end of crap from the yoyos I typically ride with...lol.

Hope to see you out and about at some point

Just got a 300 as well and agree with all your points. Great suspension, handling, and that it does everything better and easier.

So far so good for me! I like this bike much more than I thought I would.

Yes, Bill does a exemplary job of promoting anything he sells. That's just Bill and crew. As far as crap goes, you just need to hang with a lower class of people.

Oh, don't believe anything Scratch .250 says. He's just jealous, he doesn't have grey hair and he has a JOB. Some peoples KIDS. Forest
