Default Gearlever Problem

The gearlever on my bike is hitting the ignition cover, if i move it on the splines it then hits the frame.

I have 2 levers an OEM one and 1 aftermarket they both do it and its driving me nuts, having to pull the lever by hand.
the lever shaft is not bent as i replaced it as i bent the original one.

should i buy a shorty trials one?
