That could happen this week. It's been oppressively hot here in Phoenix (normal summer), so I've not wished to bother the guy with the good tester.
By way of comparison, the bike is really hard to kick down at 1,200 feet. Up in Flagstaff at 7,000+ it kicks like it did pre-mod. |

All that time and effort and the 300 still...................
.....................walks away.

I find that the 250 handles those faux berms (cunningly made of a pile of pine needles) much better than the 300, Mister Slidey.

Better late than never.
I've been riding the EC250 in Flagstaff (7-9K feet) all summer and finally got a chance to re-jet for Phoenix (1,200) and borrow my mechanic-buddy's Sears compression tester. Warm motor (wild-open throttle) gave 185 PSI with a dozen kicks (times 3 readings). And I shredded my Saucony running shoes doing it. This was done without "wetting" the cylinder, unfortunately. Phoenix premium pump gas is typically 91 Octane. This bike rips down here, BTW. Last edited by AZRickD; 12-18-2009 at 07:13 PM. |
