They really need to work on posting correct specs and dimensions for their bikes. It appears they copy and paste all the info minus a few things. For example, how does the XC200 weigh the same as an EC300? This has been a problem for a couple years. As an interested buyer, I would like to know the actual weight of the bike.

Weigh it yourself then mate. Manufacturers have been telling lies for years on the weight of bikes... amazing how they continue to lose weight every year without fail??

We all know they lie, the issue is they list all models with the same weight.

Yup.
They weigh them with no fluids.
Some manufacturers go as far as to remove the inner tubes.

My assumption is that the weight is calculated off the engineered weights of all of the individual parts and that the bike never sees a scale. Basically the theoretical "value" of the individual parts.

I wouldn't go so far as to say lie, but definitely an estimate, not actual. And I never believe the weights myself.

All that to say if you don't believe the weights posted by any manufacturer, then why complain about one?

I was misunderstood on where I stand on this. I know the weights aren't "true", but a good comparison tool between the models.

I am complaining because a simple figure as a weight SHOULD NOT be the same on the COMPANY WEBSITE for EVERY bike. A XC200 does not weigh the same as a EC300. My XC250 does not weigh the same as the EC250. It just screams carelessness on GasGas's part. This is especially true in this day and age of chasing the golden goose egg of light weight enduro machines. So why as a manufacturer, would you not list your lighter models as being lighter than your bigger bikes like the EC300? Especially a bike like the 200 that is directly competing against the Beta 200RR and older KTMS. Those dudes are chasing a light flickable machine with enough power to do anything, and interested buyers may see the 105 kg stat and just be turned off from GG completely.
