Brake pedal
The new gasgas is certainly eye candy, but what I keep looking at is the new rear brake pedal. Haven't seen one up close but would that pedal assembly fit on the older models ,say 06.
Would love a 2012 but I race what I can afford and I've grown to love my gasser. I have over50 races on it with only one piston replacement at 35 races. I'm a big guy with limited talent and would just as soon ride over or thru an obstacle than around it. I raced a Ktm 300 before this and killed it on a regular basis ,my gasser has NEVER let me down. 06-300 Lots of mods. All the bike I need |

I, too, am curious. Only have a little time on my '11, but I can't help but feel that the exposed brake is a liability.

I never thought the pedal was a problem. All the Japs use the outside of the frame pedal. Actually thought in most cases its stronger to go outside of the frame, since the pedal is strait.??

I put an aftermarket bushing from
http://www.checkpointoff-road.com/store.html and the rear brake pedal has been a total non issue. It works well and is as tight the day I bought the bike. |

I have the same bushing and it really helps, the stock pedal bushing wears out so fast in my opinion

i made the same bushing. and made the one for inside the pedal also. works great. i like the inside the frame idea - and the new pedal has bearings instead of bushings, and it looks better protected from getting jammed with trail debris...

The '11 (an prior) brake pedal might be better if the tip curved around the clutch cover more and didn't gap as much. Still, a brake snake takes care of most of this issue.
I like the new pedal because there is no way to activate the rear brake simply with up and down motion of your ankle. Either way, I've had no issues with pedals or brakes, but we don't run a bunch of mud and I'm not jamming sticks into the pedal.

I noticed the 124mm linkage arms while ordering that bushing for the brake. I believe the ones on my 11 are 122. Has anyone tried the arms and what are results? I have not experimented with the linkage arms before.
