Default E-start Help

For those with the 2011 style e-start, I have a couple of questions.

Ok, on my 2011 that I'm adding e-start to I see that the CDI cannot mount were it did before. I'm assuming from looking at parts manuals and such that where the arrow is pointed to in the pic below is where it would be mounted with e-start, yes? I also assume I need bracket EE551002508 for this? Any pics of CDI mounting, wire routing, and such?

Slotted bar mounts the rectifier.

CDI mounts on the right side of the subframe. The plastic mounting bracket has two tabs at the top and one angled tab at the bottom. Top tabs have screws into the subframe. Bottom tab has a screw into the back/bottom of the air box.

Elastic strap goes around the CDI to hold it into the plastic mounting bracket. CDI wiring connector points to the front of the motorcycle.

You da'man! That was exactly the info and pics I needed to get it sorted. Thank you!

Revisiting this again.

After sorting through the harness I got with all the parts I bought I notice the regulator/rectifier will not mount back on the subframe like in the pics above. It will have to be mounted next to the ignition coil where the old AC only regulator mounted unless I would to add a bunch of wire and do some splicing. As you can see from my pic, the wiring doe not appear to be hacked up and it has the ground that bolts to the regulator. This all came from a 2013 bike so I'm kind of at a loss here.

Should I extend the regulator back to where it is supposed to be or will it be fine by the coil?

You know, after looking at this mess I just can't let it be. I can tell someone had been in to it but not in those pics. I have the 2011, 2012, and 2013 e-start wiring schematics and I'm just going to go through and fix this harness the way it should be. Proper connectors, soldering, heat shrink, and new loom material.

Damn, why do I have to be so picky about this stuff and especially wiring.

Good crimps are the way to go. Soldering will create a fantastic join, but leaves the wire vulnerable to fracture. Dirtbike vibration is not a nice environment.
