Default Part ID??

I'm putting my 97" back together and have found this piece. I do not recognize it and can't find it in the parts microfiche. This was in a box that my mechanic handed me after they had split the cases for me. It is just bigger than a quarter.

looks like the spacer that goes over the front sproket drive shaft, and SEALS the gearbox....
pull off the front sproket and check beween the seal and driveshaft.

Ah, you are correct. Thank you. Are there o-rings that go on the inside of this?

Thats correct. Without the proper fit and seal between the collar and shaft, oil will leak out (and worse, water in) between the collar and shaft.
