Default 2012 snapped subframe

Was out for a ride and snapped the sub frame on a little rock step, there was no crash, has any body else had this problem?
Thanks

Wow, looks like it broke on the edge of the tank, but the tank is supported by the mainframe loop with the rubber trim. Could that have been damaged by a previous crash or loop out? I've heard of one broken like that, but any good flip will probably trash an alloy subframe as well. With alloy though you have a chance of bending it back to keep moving. I ride a lot of hard stuff and my bike has taken big hits, including hitting the linkage and catapulting me off the seat and its has been fine.

Thats a big reason I want to scrap that oversized Stealth, its just a big lever waiting to break the subframe if it hits a rock on the end in a crash or even a tipover. The shorter, smaller the silencer you can get away with the better.

I had quite a big off today when i got a bit too confident riding over logs , i was thrown over the bars and the bike cartwheeled and the seat landed on the middle of my back , the subframe is ok , but my back is bloody killing me

I'm confident that your dealer will be able to replace it for you Poncho. I've heard no other reports of such damage either.

Looks a lot like my collarbone a few years back, not as bad though.

My dealer will take care of this ( thanks Dave) and I will report once I have the new subframe on.

looks like GG may need to offer heavy duty sub-frames for some of the ahem larger riders out there ;-)

This is the 5th one (that I know of) out of 140 that have broke here in the US. Two were from crash damage. These parts have been strengthened on the 2013 models.
