2006 EC300 - Removing Wires
Hi, I am looking to get rid of some of the wiring on my bike that I don't need. I don't use any lights, horn, computer is toast, etc. I'm looking to keep just the basics for the CDI and spark. I have 3 wires that go to the coil and voltage regulator and am wondering if I need to keep them all. There is one for the coil, one from the AC that goes into the voltage regulator which I don't think I need, and a ground which I am unsure about. Does anyone know if this is a ground that is needed for the CDI or is it just for the accessories? The coil has a separate ground.

Try not to cut up the main harness if you can avoid it. If your 06 is
like the 02-03 harness I have seen. The CDI circuit is seperate from the lighting one. I would be interested in buying a full EC wiring harness for the lights, brakes, horn, turn signals etc...etc... I have bought two from other forum members in the past. One for my XC300 to convert it to an EC. And one is now on my KDX240. (Going for a full street legal KDX) Sorry I did not answer your question exactly..... |

You're right, the lighting harness is separate and can be unplugged from the rest. I plan to leave that intact and wire the 1, 2 or 3 wires I need for the coil separately with new wire. Just need to figure out which ones I need.
