Default 450 motor manual

Hi everyone. Been a while since I've been online, spendin too much time in the saddle for that. Had an engine seizure this morning tho, kinda put an end to the fun. Anyone know where to get a motor service manual for an 07 450? ive found some for the 05-06 but they have the dry sump engine, dont know if they would be useful at all. Any help would be great

well i found the two hiding bolts holding the head from underneath. connecting rod big bearing locked up. anyone know where i can source a con rod from. OEM are pretty dear in price, 300Euros=$466 canadian for just a rod, bearing and pin. I did a yz250f not long ago, cost $315 for a stroker crankshaft with con rod. i wouldn't mind going stroker if i could find one

My first thought would be to check to see if a DRZ con rod would fit. I think they fit the older GGs not sure about the newer.

These guys may have done one although not in their list:

You probably should check the oiling system unless is it obvious what caused the failure

well i think i know what caused it. when i drained the oil there was about 1.5 litres without taking the filter or the screen out. doesnt really smell like gas but coolant wasnt low so i can only assume the injector was leaking by and filled up with gas. when i managed to get it apart, the oil scraping ring went sproing into about 100 pieces but im not sure if i broke it while trying to take the cylinder and head off together,or if it broke while running and fell into the con rod. cylinder is pretty good but the exhaust side of the piston skirt is pretty scratched up. i guess ill know more when i get the bottom end torn down. what should i be looking for as far as oil system goes? the plug is covered in shavings as is the screen. oil filter is clean looking and there is no evidence of lack of oil on the cams.

Default Anybody run 0w40 amsoil?

well i finally got around to tearing it down, oil pump is pretty scratched, assumably from the pieces of rod bearing that ended up in there. The sealed bearing is a little gritty but still rolls and has no play so i dont think that is the culprit. Anybody run 0w40 synthetic? I ran 10w40 amsoil all along but the last oil change, I couldn't get 10w so I used 0w, the manual said its fine for my climate but i cant help but think this may have been what caused it. FWIW the clutch drag was still there
