Installed the Lectron (again) with settings confirmed by Kevin from Lectron. Slide opening set with idle screw to 0.080". Full choke, no gas. Kick til I'm tired. No nothing. Choke off. No nothing. Kicks like it's rich/flooded.

Push the bike up the drive, give it a bump start. Well, a skid start with a cold clutch. Push it back up the drive, coast down. It fired! Idle was about 4500 RPM, so I wound it down a bit, to about 1900 and let it warm up.

Took a quick turn up the road, it works. Phew. Now to get ready for the Desert 100.

I ordered the 90* throttle cable, it should be here in time for the race next weekend, I'll give a report then.

What in the world?? Why did it do that ?
That video I posted the other day. I hadn't started it in over 3 weeks and my Lectron fired on the 4th kick with the choke on!!!

Slide set way too high. Once I wound out the idle screw it idled and started just fine. Kevin recommended 0.080" opening, so that's where I put it. If I had to guess, I would say that the slide is almost completely closed now. But, it idles great. I bought the carb used and am just getting it set up for my bike.

Which part? The 0.080" opening, or dropping the slide? To expand, the 0.080" opening was HUGE and way too much gap. So, the advice from Lectron didn't help, it made it worse.

Also, it was the first chance I had to play with it, and with Kevin's suggestions in my ear, I was a willing scientist.

Yeah really you only want around 1-2mm window between the slide and the throat. The Lectron slide stop/idle screw will actually bed into the slide during break in, so you may notice some changes in idle speed after the first couple rides.

He was very specific, plus every dimension from Lectron is SAE/English.

I have moved on. Bike runs. Now I need to be ready to test/adjust at Odessa.
