Marzocchi Shiver 45mm bottom nut?
Hi all, I am about to service my forks and just want to try and find out what the nut on the bottom of the forks is for.
It has a small adjuster screw in the middle which I guess adjusts rebound but what does the big nut do? Do I need to loosen it before dismounting the forks? Does anyone have a link to the service manual for these forks? Thanks in advance. John |

Update: Just for information...
Brandon sent me the the Shiver 45 manual (many thanks!) and I have worked out that the bottom nut releases the compression valve at the bottom of the fork BUT you need a special tool to insert down the tube and stop the whole thing turning so don't just plonk a spanner on try to undo it! I left well alone. The forks are not too bad to service and the correct amount of oil is 610ml My forks only had 300 ml (must have been leaking for a while) and it was a dark grey colour which I believe indicates that the bushes have worn a bit. All good now. Thanks again to Brandon. |
