Corporations restructure debt all the time, that is nothing new. The only concern that I see from the press release is that the production process has stopped and the banks/debtors are dragging out the process.

The economies of most Euro companies are struggling [at least that is what is reported here in the States] so I am sure that there is reluctance to restructure. I wouldn't get too worried if this only last's a few weeks.

edit: I meant Euro Countries not companies.

We expect a positive announcement next week. I have been on the phone every day with the factory and can tell you, things are working out for the benefit of GasGas.

The quicker that positive news comes, the better.

While I have no concerns over the re-structuring, and understand that it's simply a tactic to force creditors to re-negotiate, others don't seem to get it. I've heard some guys give dire predictions that the brand is dead, and even had one guy tell me he was re-considering a GG purchase due to the financial news. I hope things get settled quickly for the sake of the brand.

The Canadian Beta importer has been running around telling the world that GasGas and Sherco are going bankrupt like a chicken with his head cut off. I hope he gets his in the end. The douchebag!

Yeah, that guy has completely turned me off the thought of buying a Beta.

Good to hear that it is a "typical" restructuring.

Our local importer here says that basically he has not noticed anything different from previous years. Spare parts are supplied, e-mails are answered - and bikes are arriving late, as always.
