Ok,, Got a friend from my riding club who is LC4 hot right now coming tomorrow to look at my sxc.. $3k if I take her back to stock, $3500 leaving her with all my extra stuff,, big tank, billet rad guards, FCR conversion, MX rear fender conversion, and a few others.. then?? kinda need a four stroke as I'm doing mostly DS type riding.. would love a 250/300 gg but might wait till next year for one and just kick back with a dot ktm 450 for right now.. unless I find a GG 450/515 that I can ds.. If I ran the tight stuff on a sxc I can on a 450.. I still have my 97 250 and plan on doing a frame off rebuild this winter for a 2 banger for next season,, unless I find just the right deal.. or the wife gets a better job..

Steve,

Can you still get a non-homolagated bike like a GG450 registered and inspected there? If so then anything with the right lights and stuff works right? If you can't find a late model GG 450, what about a Husky 310, the old motor not the new grenade. Maybe pick up a 250 cheap now that the new bikes are out and get the Athena kit which is all that the factory 310 is anyway. They work nice in the rocks, and the 310 should feel lighter than the 450s. Craig loved his 450 riding up by you just didn't like to race it.

The huskys are DOT factory,, the GG I have to work for.. I "should" be able to get a tag, as long as the title does not actually say "not for highway".. getting thru inspection in pa is a bit harder.. but doable.. I have had my auto inspection license for 23 years and for about 10 years had my MC insp too. just cant or shouldn't insp your own. I have a line on two very nice 04/06 KTM's and one 08 husky 510. havent seen one 310 fs yet.. Hopefully my SXC will be gone tomorrow before I change my mind..

The pre '08s were not DOT but essentially the same bike. If your looking for a lighter option then a nice 250 with a 310 kit might be the ticket. Friends don't let friends ride orange.
