If I were you I'd ask at a MO highway patrol office. I've been told that if it can pass the state inspection it's all good but the check list includes turn signals horn, lights and all the other things found on street bikes.

As you may know there are a lot of forest service roads and quad trails that you can legally ride but they are often connected by county roads which require a licensed bike. Many people ride them anyway and hope that the understaffed USFS folks won't catch them.

If you get an official answer please post it. My Husky WR250 was plated in OK but since I moved to MO I let my tag expire since there is no way it could pass the MO inspection.

I have a 2005 legally plated in Missouri. I purchase it used from an owner in Michigan that also had it plated. Just did a title transfer. I purposely bought a bike titled in another state to make this easy. Get it inspected every other year.

I'm also aware of people who have been successful with a 2010 but also people who were not???

I called the MO highway patrol and they said if the title reads "dirtbike" it cannot be tagged. bummer, because it reads "dirtbike".
